To complete the project on-time there are some key dates which need to be met to ensure the critical path of the project is not compromised:
- 8th March- Collect machined piece and ensure fits in the rheometer.
- 11th march-Work out how to offset the bearing friction on new head. Create part in device manager.
- 12th march-Stage 1 of commissioning- Measure silicon oil with new and old head taking results
- 13th march-Stage 2 of commissioning- Measure head with and without bearing using offset option and take results.
-Prepare ER fluid
- 14th march-Stage 3 Begin testing ER fluid.
- 18th march-Stage 4 Begin test Synovial Fluid
- 19th march-Take final Results
- 24th march- Have results presented and argument fully developed.
- 4th April-Hand-in
Task to be completed:
- Manufacturing of ER support.
- Inputting parameter of the new part into the device manager.
- Use the bearing offset tool on the rheometer to limit the affects of the bearing on measurements.
- All three commissioning stages and creating error bars from these stages.
- Testing of the synovial fluid and taking results.
- Further reading to be in a position to theorise why synovial fluid would be an ER fluid.
- Writing up results and creating content for discussion.
