Sources of Error
This section of the website has some of the main sources of error identified for the experiment so far but is by no means a complete list of the errors.
- Misalignment of the shaft or bottom surface causing variable gap when turning
- Varying electrical resistance of the bearing causing fluctuation in electric field.
- Filling the plate ensuring it fluid goes completely out to the edges of the plate.
4. Varying resistance from the bearing not accounted for.
5. The further you move out from the center of the plate the higher the shear rate will be. This non-uniform shear rate causes assumption like the power-law to be made for non-newtonian fluids. These assumptions are a source of error.
6. Errors in the inputs while creating the part in the device manager
7. The temperature of the fluid not being at body temperature
